About Luke
Luke is a committed local leader, Conservative campaigner, and successful entrepreneur working to deliver real change for Bishop Auckland. Born in Bishop Auckland Hospital and proud to call the town home, Luke is passionate about standing up for local people, supporting businesses, and fighting for a better future for County Durham and the North East.
As a Conservative councillor and Parliamentary Candidate, Luke has been at the forefront of local campaigns to protect public services, invest in transport, and back hardworking families. He’s led the charge against cuts to the Winter Fuel Allowance, championed tax relief for low-income households, and worked to secure and protect £73 million in Levelling Up funding for Bishop Auckland.
In business, Luke is the Founder and CEO at Excursions By Rail and Holdham Rail, and the Managing Director at Bishop Trains — three successful companies rooted in the North East. Through these ventures, he has revitalised rail tourism and helped boost the local economy, proving that Conservative values of enterprise and opportunity work in practice.
Luke believes Bishop Auckland deserves a strong, energetic Conservative voice — someone who puts the community first, challenges complacency, and delivers real results. Whether he’s hosting a pensioners’ fair, organising a jobs and apprenticeships event, or holding bus operators to account, Luke brings Conservative principles and local pride to everything he does.
